Your Guide to Tarlac Pangasinan La Union Expressway (TPLEX)

Passing Tarlac Pangasinan La Union Expressway (TPLEX) is a great experience specially when you are going to Northern Luzon. It will save you more time and less hustle than passing through the main road.

To begin with, most private vehicles passing through this route are Class 1 vehicles (Cars & Jeepneys, Including Taxis, Vans, Pick-Ups, etc. or Vehicles with 2 axles and an Overall Height of up To Feet). It will take you more or less 45 minutes of long travel at an average speed of 95KPH (100KPH maximum) from La Paz, Tarlac to Urdaneta, Pangasinan with a toll fee that cost around 235 Pesos (As of February 2017) .

Will I pass here or not?

If you are planning for a long travel like Manila to Baguio or any point in Northern Luzon via TPLEX and vice-versa, I suggest you pass this route. The price of the toll fee will offset the price of the fuel compared to the longer and conventional route. It is also advantageous on your part because you cut-off a portion of your traveling time and improve the safety factor and road hazards.

If you planning for a short travel, avoid this route. The entry/exit points of the expressway will give another extra distance going to the main road. Use the main road instead.

Visit the link link below for more updated information about Toll Fees and Vehicle Classification.

Update: (As of February 2017), the route is until Pozzorobio entry/exit only. Rosario entry/exit is under construction.

How to get to Baguio via TPLEX
After passing Pozzorubio Exit, take Kennon Road for a shorter trip or via Marcos Highway. Please see this Kennon Road Guide for more information.

Important tip:
Since Rosario Exit is not yet complete, Take the Urdaneta Exit instead of Binalonan Exit when your route is going to the north or vice-versa. You will save 19 pesos of toll fee because the time covered between the two is virtually the same.

None. I think when your car malfunctioned along tplex, they will easily detect you through cctv cameras or a constant a regular patrol by their maintenance service. They will help you but with penalty and fine.

    Dear Tplex,

    Good morning!

I have reported this to you already last January 5 regarding our car. Let me give you the details of what happen.

We were asked to send thru LBC P20,000 to them (Mr. Edmund Pelayo as he had introduced himself as such), so that the work will begin. And we did because he promised 2 weeks.
We waited for the 2 weeks of work that was promised by Mr. Edmund Pelayo but failed.
Then we were asked to look for this parts so we did and send again thru LBC.
Then one month passed, not yet done. So we called Mr. Edmund Pelayo since its too long already more than 1 month.
Then he said 4-5 days but failed. So we called again but decided we will get the car but they need to give back our money and he hesistated. So we know he is not being honest to us. We asked for the number of their main office in Concepcion, Tarlac but he put off his phone. We called and called and called and we can not get thru anymore. This is not good.
After sometime, he texted his brother Efren Pelayo Santos’ number.
We texted his brother to call us. Well, he did. he seem to be good but who can trust another Pelayo with our experience. But we did, he said he will work on it and call us. True enough, he called. Then he called to tell us the car is running now so we can get it back.
Saturday, February 25, we commuted to get the car. Upon arrival, it had a test run. Good. Settled payment P20,600- advance+LBC, P10,000- given cash 2/25/17 @ ej motors carmen, with an agreement of guarantee of one week. (super too short for the wait we had given them).

HOWEVER, IN SAPANG TAGALOG, TARLAC, THE CAR DIED. TUMIRIK. CALLED THEM AGAIN, MR. EFREN PELAYO SANTOS CAME TO THE RESCUE BUT IT DID NOT WORK. THEN HE MADE A DEAL, WE WILL LEAVE THE CAR IN HIS HANDS, NO LABOR, BUT WE HAVE TO PAY FOR THE PARTS AND MACHINE WORK. WHAT????? WHERE IS THE GUARANTEE? I WANTED TO CRY! WHEN WE SAID YOU HAVE TO TOW US FOR FREE! HE DID NOT AGREE! HE LEFT! WE FOLLOWED USING THEIR TOWING TRUCK. WE DECIDED TO BE TOWED! GLAD HE AT LEAST FINALLY SAID WE WILL PAY THE DRIVER p1000.00, COMPANION p500.00, TOLLFEES BACK AND FORTH, GAS -P1000.00. FOR THAT WE ARE THANKFUL.

So now my question is, should you get them as towing for your commuters?

I also came to know one from Kalinga but reside in Bicol. His KIA van was with them since June last year! This man paid in Full!

I believe you have to check on your partners that they dont take advantage of their “prisoned” customers!
