Vacation to Go: Tagaytay or Baguio

Where will I spend my summer vacation? Tagaytay or Baguio. Many are still seeking answers about this matter. The answer is straight and simple, it depends.

Tagaytay is closer to Manila. Traveling time is lesser and less tiring compared to Baguio. The scenery is limited however clean and peaceful. For Gamblers, there is Casino Filipino.

Baguio City is the Summer Capital of The Philippines, it is a good place to cool down during hot season. You can do many activities in while on vacation, however, the City is becoming crowded and polluted because of development and over population.

To sum it up, Tagaytay is better when it comes to a shorter traveling duration while Baguio is better when it comes to a longer traveling vacation.

Please comment if you have other ideas, thanks. 🙂

Tripadvisor Baguio – Positive and Negative Side

If you are a budget traveler in Baguio, stay away from TripAdvisor. When you want to book online, don’t go to booking site such as this one, instead, book directly to the site listed in TripAdvisor if the hotel or inn have a website. Search in Google if they have a website (most hotels and inns in Baguio have a homepage). If not, search for their contact number and call them directly. You will save a lot of money when you book directly to their web address.

The good thing about TripAdvisor is the customer feedback section, it helps you a lot in choosing where to stay in Baguio. Don’t read the positive feedback, study the negative comments and decide.

Expect a higher price in terms of food and accommodation if an establishment is listed in TripAdvisor because such establishment is open for local and foreign traveler. However, there are more places to visit that is not listed in TripAdvisor worth to see.

Baguio Ghost Stories

There are many ghost stories in Baguio. However, many of it are just creation of the mind and only few are legitimate. The question now is, are their stories real?

If you want to know real ghost stories, ask some security guard/s who is securing a controversial establishments at night. Testimonies of taxi drivers are mostly unreliable because of the nature of their job.

If you have some real experience or story to share about ghost, feel free to contribute.

Picture of Pine Tree with Lowland Trees

This is a rare picture of pine tree growing side by side with palm trees, mango trees, santol tree (wild mangosteen in English), rambutan tree, and coffee plants.

Usually, pine trees live in a high altitude location. However, it can also grow in mid-temperature places such as in Nueva Viscaya, Batangas, Mindoro, and some parts of Bukidnon.

Animal Shelter in Baguio City

Do you know an animal shelter near Baguio City? I think there are few animal shelters in the City, however, they are not publicly revealed.

If you found or rescued an animal, where do you bring it? This is only one of the questions that may be raised if it actually happens. The probability that it will happen is very high specially in case of dogs rescued somewhere at checkpoints because of high demands of dog meat.

I know an animal shelter but it is located outside the city.

John Hughes Animal Shelter on Sitio Apit, Poblacion, Naguilian, La Union.

If you know some animal shelters in/near Baguio, feel free to comment and I will be adding it to the list.
