Balatoc Mines, home of the oldest mining firm in the Country. Founded on August 12, 1903, Benguet Corporation is the oldest mining firm in the Philippines. It is located in Virac, Itogon, Benguet.
Balatoc Mines contributed huge volume of precious minerals to our Country through the years making the local economy of Itogon alive.
Underneath these mountains are wide network of tunnels interconnecting each other forming a vertical and horizontal web of tunnels. The gray area in this photo is one of the three tailing ponds of the mining firm.
